Eve & Adam

Why did satan target Eve first… and not Adam… in the Garden of Eden… The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy (John 10:10)*?

I think he did because… the woman has been entrusted with the keeping… or development… of life.  The man of the union has been entrusted with… the guarding… or defending… the life entrusted to the woman.

This is just how I see it right now… it doesn’t mean I’m right… I’m still learning… checkout the scriptures in context.

With the flesh of man… life starts as a child—it starts at conception.  With God… Life… Eternal Life… began for us as… the only begotten Son of God (John 1:18)… the Christ Child—it also started with a conception.

If one would want to destroy the future of mankind… you would target the woman entrusted with…or representing… life—you would also target the Holy Spirit entrusted with Eternal Life… the Life of Christ.

I think this is why…

  • the “murderer”, Satan, focused on Eve…
  • society, the world, abuses and trashes women…
  • pseudo-theology… religion… false teachers (wolves acting like innocent sheep) disregard the true identity… the true role… the significance of the Holy Spirit.

Ultimately… they deny the… city of the Living God… the New Jerusalem (see the Series Essay… The Hope of Our Calling…Chosen for an Inheritance)… the soon-to-be Wife of the Lamb of God.  They reject God the Father’s plan… His Word… for how… and when… the marriage supper of the Lamb will take place.

As I’ve shared in the Series Essay… She I see where the Holy Spirit and the woman seem to share many qualities… or issues… of the heart—both seem to have the role of a nurturer and comforter.

I think…

  • the woman excels at education—the Holy Spirit… the Spirit of Wisdom… is our teacher…
  • the woman treasures “oneness” and “forever” in a relationship—the Holy Spirit is our “oneness” in our relationship to the Father and Jesus Christ… and, will be with us “forever”…
  • the language of “love” and the “heart” is more understood by a woman than a man—the Holy Spirit is the perfect Love of God and resides in the “heart of flesh” of the New Covenant…

and, I could go on.

The woman… the wife of the family… has the desire to keep her home well fed and warm… She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens… She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet (Proverbs 31).

The man… the husband of the family… trusting his wife is taking care of their home… defends the land of his home from his enemy’s intent on destroying his household.  His interest is on his homeland.  He has no desire to go on the offensive… to raid the land of others… The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil… Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land (Proverbs 31).

A woman tends to focus on the “inside”—a man focuses on the “outside”.

A woman is more emotional—a man is more visual.

The heart is “within”—the enemy of the heart approaches from “without” using circumstance.

The Holy Spirit takes care of the “children of God the Father”… the House of God… the Temple of God… the Church—the Bride of Christ.  And, God the Father… through His Son, Jesus Christ, the High Priest over the House God… protects His Son’s Bride from the “thief”… Satan.

The Holy Spirit… living in the “heart of flesh”… maintains the Temple of God on earth… the body of the child of God the Father.  God the Father… through the High Priest over the House of God, Jesus Christ, protects the “heart of flesh” of the New Covenant… (see the Series essays… In the Center… In the House).

It seems the union… the marriage (where possibly the Holy Spirit was entrusted to, or represented in, the female… Eve… and protected by the male… Adam) was first seen in the Garden of Eden.  Of course… both roles failed in their responsibility of keeping, or protecting, the way to Eternal Life… the Tree of Life.

Marching forward… Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 1:18)—Mary was entrusted with the Holy Spirit in the Christ Child… for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 1:20).

God spoke to Joseph… Mary’s husband… not to Mary… in a dream to protect the child of the Holy Ghost from harm by the “destroyer”, Satan.  The devil was working through Herod to destroy the Christ Child—Joseph moved his family to safety (Matthew 2:12-14).

The Life of Christ… the child of the Holy Ghost was entrusted to a wife, Mary, and protected by her husband, Joseph.

The Life of Christ in… the children of God the Father… the Bride of Christ… the soon-to-be Wife of the Lamb of God… is entrusted to the Holy Spirit… And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption…

Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts (Ephesians 4:30, 2 Corinthians 1:22).

And, it seems God the Father protects His children… the Bride of Christ… through Jesus Christ, the High Priest over the House of God… I lay down my life… I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father…

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus… having an high priest over the house of God… Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water (John 10:17-18; Hebrews 10:19-22).

The Father (through His Son, Jesus Christ, with Christ’s crucifixion… resurrection… and ascension into Heaven) provided… equips… and protects… the “heart of flesh” of the New Covenant… for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you

the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance (John 16:7; 14:26).

The Holy Spirit… the Life of Christ… is the Comforter… teacher… strength… love… joy… peace… for the children of God the Father… the Bride of Christ.  From the “heart of flesh”… the Bride… with the help of the Holy Spirit… is to prepare… for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready (Revelation 19:7).

Strong’s Greek Lexicon: “Comforter”… 3875. parakletos par-ak’-lay-tos an intercessor, consoler:–advocate, comforter.

No… I’m NOT saying the Holy Spirit is a woman—it just sounds like what the Holy Spirit does is what a family matriarch… a sister… a woman rooting for you… would do for a young engaged bride… Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman(Proverbs 7:4).

Marriage… it seems to be more than a trivial concept for man to exploit through his whims.

The marriage relationship between a man and a woman seems display the “substance and evidence” for the model of… the Life of Jesus Christ… the Holy Spirit… thriving in man… Christ in us, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

Darkness (Satan… sin… the world—death) hates Light (God… the Father—Jesus Christ—the Holy Spirit… Life)… that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil (John 3:19).

So… it would make sense why the enemy of Light would… change the natural use into that which is against nature… (Romans 1:26).

However… who has the final word… That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11)?

Why is there the story of… the journey… the history… the future described (the recorded scripture of the Holy Bible) of the Family of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of Israel?

I understand that…

  • Satan is the father of lies—God is the Father of Truth (Jesus Christ)…
  • Satan is darkness—God is Light…
  • Satan is death—God is Life…
  • the “mother of evil” is… having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth (Revelation 17:4-5).

So… “darkness” seems to have a mother called… Babylon.

Now… to the “other side”…

And… the Jerusalem used to describe the New Covenant… But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all (Galatians 4:25-31).  Notice… this Jerusalem is called… the mother of us all.

Then… this Jerusalem is described as… the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband…     that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal (Revelation 21:2, 10-11).

This Jerusalem… that comes down from God out of heaven (which I’d describe as being… “above”)… is the Wife of the Lamb of God.

The Jerusalem used to describe the New Covenant… and, the Jerusalem used to describe the Lamb’s Wife… are they the same Jerusalem?

The language God uses to describe a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah… and, with the Bride of Christ… the Church (also part of the household of God)… is also used when talking about the Wife of Jesus Christ… Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God (Revelation 21:3; 2 Corinthians 6:16; Hebrews 8; Ezekiel 11:17-20; 36:24-28; 37:21-28).

{You may be asking… with the house of Israel?  Yes… there is one New Covenant—it was only made with the house of Israel and the house of Judah (Jeremiah 31:31; Hebrews 8:8)… gentile believers are grafted in… as “wild” olive branches… through the Blood of Jesus Christ (Romans 11).  But… the body of Christ is still the Church… the Temple of God… the Household of God… and, there is one way to become part of this body… And he [Jesus Christ] is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you…

in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth…

Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit (Colossians 1:18-19; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 1 Timothy 3:15; Ephesians 2:19; 1 Corinthians 12:13).}

Then… the Holy Spirit and the Lamb’s Wife speak… And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17).

Jesus Christ seems to have spoken similar words at one time… the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified) (John 7:37-39).

Are there connections?  So I won’t cause confusion… I’ll leave the discussion at that—maybe one day we’ll be able to understand more definitively.

To recap—life is entrusted to a mom… protected by a husband—Eternal Life is entrusted to the Holy Spirit in the “heart of flesh” of the New Covenant… protected by God the Father through Jesus Christ… the high priest over the house of God.  All… so the Father’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, would have a Bride who will become… His Wife.

We get to be part of this… if we’ve accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior… His sacrifice at the Cross… and… if we stay faithful until He returns for us… Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ…

Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb (2 Peter 3; Revelation 19:9).

This is how I currently understand the story of… the Family of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of Israel.

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love… Ephesians 3:14-17 [bold emphasis mine].

For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone… Ephesians 2:18-20 [bold emphasis mine].

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this Isaiah 9:6-7.
