Which Jesus?

I’m a Christian… I want to share Jesus Christ.

Which Jesus do I share?

Do I share the “seeker friendly jesus” who seems like “Gomer Pyle USMC”—he pats everyone who’s ever lived on the head as he says… sha-zam, gall-lee… welcoming them into heaven?  Life is good… this jesus is a really “nice guy”!

Or…

Do I share Jesus Christ… who is the God of righteousness… justice… mercy… kindness (Isaiah 11:1-5; Ephesians 2:4-5,7; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 Timothy 2:3-6)… and, that He’s also the God of wrath (Romans 1:16-18; Ephesians 5:5-6; Revelation 19:11-16)?  To give the “whole story”… do I not have to include… His righteousness demands God’s wrath upon sin (Habakkuk 1:13)?  It’s not that I’m trying to be a “party pooper”… but, I have the desire to share the Jesus Christ I’ve come to understand.

And… all for good reason…

As the only begotten Son of God (John 3:16-18), Jesus Christ took God’s wrath for our sin upon Himself to become the High Priest over the House of God (Mark 15:34; Hebrews 10)—all, so we would not face the wrath of God if we believe in and accept what Christ did at the cross and remain faithful to Him (1 Thessalonians 1:9-10).  If we don’t… we will face God’s wrath ultimately ending up in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:6,14-15).  This is called sharing the true Jesus… Jesus Christ—the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

To share the “seeker friendly” version… is this another way of saying… it’s all about me… it’s all about I… worship me… I want seem like a “nice guy” to you… so, I’ll make the jesus of my imagination conform to your lusts… I mean… desires?  A gospel is “spun” to get the “quick sale”—they bring on the “signs and wonders”… they’re the “center of attention”… the “hit of the party” (Matthew 24:5,23-27; 2 John 1:9-11; Proverbs 11:1-3,9; Matt 16:4; 2 Timothy 3:1-5).

[I’m familiar… I once did this in a public-stage type business… “spin” was the preferred “tool of operations”.  I’d like to say I voluntarily left… no… God made me to face my “manipulation tactics”… my lusts—the money was just too good to force myself to change.]

The Father calls someone to Christ (John 6:44)… not me… so, if I share the Jesus Christ as He describes Himself in the Holy Bible… I remove myself from the “center of attention” putting it back on Jesus Christ—who He truly is and what He offers.  Now the credit goes to God the Father… Jesus Christ… the Holy Spirit… for someone receiving Christ from a good heart (Luke 8:15).

I chose Jesus Christ for who He is… not because He was some watered-downed… morphed… version.  And, today, I’m still in pursuit of Him—I want to continue to learn more about Him to have a deeper relationship with Him.

In commerce, we hear of “branding”.  Is our experience with a “brand” consistent (Hebrews 13:8-9)… do we get more than what is promised (Ephesians 3:19-20)?  If so… we tend to stay loyal to that brand (Proverbs 22:1).  If not… the “brand” is a “dud” to us… so, we search for another one.

On my own… I’ve nothing to offer you but a “dud brand”… tasteless salt… a cloud without rain (Matthew 5:11-14; Proverbs 25:14; Jude 12-13,16,18-19).  If I share Jesus Christ… His Life… His Spirit—the Holy Spirit… you have a chance to receive everything—a relationship with the real God… the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of Israel.  You can become a member of His Family (Ephesians 2:18-20)—have a future and a real Life—Eternal Life.  The “brands of this world” will disappear (2 Peter 3:10)… but, Jesus Christ will remain forever (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 11:15).

Which Jesus would you prefer that I share with you?

Jesus Christ… The Way… The Truth… The Life!

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him (2 Corinthians 11:3-4).
