Who has the power to give man the breath of life… raise him from the dead to Eternal Life… or… eternal perdition?
The last time I checked… only God can—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of Israel.
No man can.
No demon can.
Satan… angels of darkness… false gods… false religions… false prophets and teachers… spiritual-motivational gurus—their wagon train is headed for a hot… dry… dark… place called the Lake of Fire. Torment… darkness… powerlessness… is reserved for them for eternity. Do you really want to hitch your wagon to theirs?
4 For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ… 12 These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted; 13 wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever. (NASB) Jude 1
1But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction… 17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption [also sounds like a guru]: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 2 Peter 2
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Revelation 14
So… who are you going to trust?
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10
3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. 4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. 5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God: Psalm 146
(also, see the essay… In God We Trust)
God’s willing to provide the greater—seems He’s also willing for the lesser… if we trust Him… 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6
34 Ascribe ye strength unto God: His excellency is over Israel, And his strength is in the skies. 35 O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: The God of Israel, he giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God. (ASV) Psalm 68
