Reading the blog entry… Professionalizing Your Ranch… made me ponder…
Are we “professional” followers of Christ (mature—“meat eaters”)… or… “amateur” followers of Christ (immature—“milk only drinkers”)?
Are our roles well defined and understood—our responsibilities in God’s Kingdom?
Do we not have to understand the Kingdom of God in “real terms” we can relate to—the promises made to Abraham… governing leadership with mercy and Truth… God ordained gender specific male/female marriages that bear specific gender children to create a family… how future generations are multiplied—how God will redeem and multiply His people to flourish?
If we do… does this help us understand the “benchmarks” to prepare us for our roles as kings and priests of God—why we’re to reject idolatry… immorality (hate evil)… and… bear fruit of the Spirit… grow in grace and knowledge of Christ… flourish His Spirit in us (love God’s righteousness)?
Are we competent… skilled… with the “benchmarks”?
For mentoring, or training, do we engage competent… skilled… “professional shepherds” who are interested in the flock’s future—in protecting and developing the flock. Or… do we listen to “amateur hirelings” only in it for their personal glory, power, and notoriety?
Do we value “professional shepherds” appropriately?
Do we rely on “subsidies… off-farm income” to cope? Think—eastern mysticism… new-age practices… humanism… contemplative prayer… signs and wonders—word-faith… world domination (Dominionism—“7-mountain mandate”… what about the Lord’s will with Jacob’s trouble… the birth pains?)… ecumenism—idolatry.
Are we relying on the God of Israel (the Father… Jesus Christ… the Holy Spirit) as our only will… resource… power… to bear fruit—be profitable?
If I’m to trust Jesus Christ when I’m dead… I must trust Him while I’m alive.
Does in not take effective… clear… communication—fellowship… washing each other’s feet with the “water of the Word”… encouraging each other to remain faithful—to remain profitable? Is this not described as… loving one another as Christ has loved us (John 13; 15)?
Do we have a plan (putting on the “armor of God”) to manage the “risk to our faith” from sin… satan… the world?
Will not the “mature—professional” Christian be compensated well when Christ brings our reward when He returns?
Does not the “immature—amateur” Christian, who stays in this state during their walk with Christ, run the risk of diminished reward… or… worse yet… losing their faith and their reward of Eternal Life?
Yes… it takes work—it’s not socialism.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. John 15
33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Luke 21
