Adding or Taking

Reading… The 3 Measures of Success in Business and watching the accompanying video… I wondered…

In context of our faith in Jesus Christ, does our buildingadd to… or… take away… from our life?

Those that understand… add to… know I’m talking about…

  • attached to the vine, Jesus Christ, relying and drawing from Him for Life…
  • getting to know the God of Israel… growing in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ
  • overcoming the power of sin and the world…
  • growing in understanding the how God thinks… what’s in His heart… who He is…
  • increasing our fruit production bearing from 30 to 60 to 100 fold…
  • growing in anticipation for Christ’s return and the future generations… our blessed hope.

They also understand… take away… means…

  • relying on yourself and other men for the “good life”…
  • hyper-activity… exhaustion—you’re not sure if God showers you with material abundance … worldly comfort and acceptance… because of your “good works”… so, you pedal faster as they fade, or escape your grasp, causing you to question what’s your fate after you die…
  • living in confusion… darkness—you can’t discern what’s true or false… what is of God, or not—all leading to…
  • strife… anger… bitterness—civility decaying…
  • law breaking down… evil becoming accepted—it’s no longer breaking the law to break the law—leading to…
  • getting high on signs and wonders (Daniel 8:23-25; Mark 13:21-23; Matthew 12:38-40; 2 Thessalonians 2:8-10) like a drug… causing…
  • one’s fruit production to wither because they’re a dying tree becoming a dead tree bearing no fruit—their salt has become useless (Jude 10-12; Matthew 5:12-14; Luke 14:26-27,33-35).

How are we building?

Will it last… or… be destroyed?

Is it a profitable “business”… or… just a job?

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
