Pig or Beauty

Reading… Will Christians Replace Commitment to the Gospel… prompted to put these thoughts down…

As an American, I’ve tasted snippets of freedom, capitalism, values, and honoring others through obedience to laws protecting our dignity as… male and female created in the image of God,  This has resulted in comfort and civility—experiences that seemed to be described in the God of Israel’s way of life.  His Kingdom, which describes many of these experiences, will be established on earth when Christ Jesus returns as Lord of lords… King of kings.  Until then, the world embraces the darkness it loves so.

By God’s grace, we’ve experienced an anomaly in America for a short time of history—ancient Israel experienced the same.  Like Israel, turning away from the Lord God causes the darkness to seep back in driving the light out.  When Christ returns, the light will drive out the darkness.

Jesus Christ said… they will break in and steal… the world will hate and persecute His disciples… so, get on with it seeking His Kingdom… not what this world offers (1 John 2:14-17).  I also understand this as… quit trying to put lipstick on a pig hoping it’ll be a beauty queen—along the same of… don’t expect a fulfilling marriage, with children and children’s children, if you seek what a harlot offers (Revelation 17:4-6; Proverbs 7; 29:3).

Abraham and the others understood… saw… embraced what God promised them.  Without receiving the promises, they staked their lives on them traveling towards the promise of… the city built by the hand of God (Hebrews 11-12).  They left the “pig” back in the dust walking towards the “beauty” God promised them—it’s called faith… without which, we will not receive what God’s promised.

It’s hard to recognize the pig unless you know what the beauty looks like… and, only God’s Wisdom, the Holy Spirit, can reveal to us the differences (Matthew 4:7-10; John 18:36; Isaiah 11:1-5).

The world, who rejects God’s Wisdom, prefers the fake—fake money… fake profitability and prosperity (cars and homes from fake, cheap, credit—that which cannot be purchased from earning and saving)… fake capitalism (socialism)… fake marriages (shack-ins and same-sex delusions)… fake genders… fake news… fake piety (love, good works, and signs and wonders apart from God’s strength—the Holy Spirit)—the fake beauty (the pig… the city of man… a world peace plan orchestrated by men).  It’s also called counterfeiting… larceny… theft… in attempt to hide, or justify, their sins before God.

How do get rid of a fake… a thief?  You recognize the real and get rid of the counterfeit by pruning it away… burning it away… to expose the genuine.  And, God will through the trials and His end-time wrath (1 Peter 1:6-9; 1 Corinthians 3:12-14; Matthew 13:37-43; 12:37-40).  If Christ didn’t remove the evil from our lives… would He still be our Redeemer… And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. (Luke 11)?  The days are evil… but… they can be redeemed (Ephesians 5:16-21).

Men appointing themselves as a god, attempting to do what God will, only aid and abet the “fake”—God calls them out as false prophets… false teachers… false sheep.  These are wolves acting like they love us while licking their chops ready to rip us apart for their lunch… a.k.a… seed money… faith gifts… donations—false-promising that we’ll get our dreams realized from God if we sow our resources for their seed for their opulent living (James 4:2-4).

Those of Hebrews 11 succeeded in staying faithful… true… to death.  Where was their focus… on the pig or the beauty?

Yes, we’re to be aware of the dangers that destroy, or prohibit, finding peace with the God of Israel through the Redeemer, Christ Jesus.  We’re sinners, and if our sins remain unforgiven, we’ll incur the wrath of God upon us.  When Christ becomes our Savior and Redeemer, there’s growth in grace and knowledge of Him preparing us for the Will of God.  The world, and those that embrace it, don’t want us to go down this road.  Their god and father, Satan, will try any tactic possible to destroy us.

Abraham and the others continued to follow the God of Israel—they knew where they were going.  They were able to fight-off the wolves… detractors.  The One who made it all possible, did the same… Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12.

I’ve got a saying… when you know where you’re going, the road map makes sense.  I’ll add… you’ll also be able to reject the false maps leading you elsewhere—like those involved in the ecumenical, emergent, dominionist, and kingdom-now movements mentioned in Will Christians Replace Commitment to the Gospel.

By the way… she is beautiful and fruitful
