You salty

What can salty imply when describing someone?  Maybe they’re a little offensive… challenging… abrupt… convicting—they have “true grit”.  They cause you to act or react… make a decision about their expressions… words.  You can either consider or reject them.

I’ve been working with dried meats.  The salt kills off harmful bacteria preserving the meat.  Without refrigeration, you have meat to keep you alive as you trek “on the trail”.

I also grill a lot.  A simple salt, or salt/pepper seasoning, that has a chance to penetrate meat, enhances the true flavors of the meat, itself.  With fire and a grill, the structure… the integrity… of the grilled meat is kept intact—it’s not just tasteless, or overpowering exotic-flavored, mush.  Then, they’ve come up with the fake version—a conglomerate of chemicals passed off as… meat.

In context of Elijah’s Rapture – 2 Kings 1-2 at 40 minutes in the video, discussing the salt (2 Kings 2:20-21)… are not Christians the salt of the earth?

If we become tasteless… worthless… does this mean we’ve quit preaching Gospel that heals the waters… removes death—heals the barren land.  Does not receiving the Holy Spirit do this?  How can men receive… is it not through the risen Christ from the cross?

The preaching of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God gives people a chance for finding Life.  If we quit sharing, do we become “tasteless… good for nothing”?  Is this an indication the Holy Spirit… the power of God… the “salt”… is becoming weak, or leaving, our heart… our souls?

I’m noticing the Gospel is increasingly being replaced by seeker-friendly “humanistic approaches to life”—the social gospel… the talk of grandeur world peace plans and goals of men in the name of the Lord.  The focus is on men driven purposes and goals… great number tallies… conquering the world for God when Christ said His Kingdom is not of this world… occultic/mystical signs and wonders.  Their great “swelling words” are becoming powerless to turn the tsunami of corruption… anger… hate… confusion… darkness approaching in the world—even though they promise the opposite.

The Bible never said the world-at-large would embrace the Light… however, the Gospel is the only chance for the individual to live respecting the lives of others… male and female created in the image of God.  Some tinkle… sprinkle… zip/zap… rolling around… barking experience does not add to our lives… allowing people to experience Life, the Life of Christ—the only Way to True Peace with the God of Israel and man, forever.  In this age, God says only a remnant will… not by God’s choice, but man’s.

Only a remnant… what’s the point then?

There’s an age coming when it will not be a remnant.  The God of Israel will greatly multiply His redeemed people, the house of Israel and the house of Judah.  In this age, accepting Jesus Christ as our Redeemer and Savior is the only way to be a part of this in the next age.  If not, we will experience separation from God for eternity—darkness and eternal torment in the Lake of Fire.

Are we not to feed the hungry and clothe the poor?  Who offers true food (the Bread of Life) and true clothing (the Robe of Righteousness)?  Is it not the risen and ascended Jesus Christ… fully man and fully God—the High Priest over the House of God?  Sharing what He’s done/doing for us seems like a good place to start… and… end.

Is not freedom… capitalism… the true value of profit, earning, saving, and hard-currency… the family of male and female… innocent children… the Jews… Christianity… being trodden under the foot of men… cast out of the societies of the world?  Is it because the salt of Truth is losing its savor?

It shouldn’t be shocking—the world hates the Truth… however… we can’t if we expect to know and see the God of Israel.  And, we’ll tend to share what we lovewhat’s in the heart will come out of the mouth.

19 And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren.20 And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.21 And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.22 So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake. 2 Kings 2

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Matthew 5

34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? 35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Luke 14

49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. Mark 9

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Romans 1

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 2 Thessalonians 2

14 Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.                                   22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord God of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth. Isaiah 28
