Like Then?

I was listening to a Bill Randles’ teaching today how God dealt with Egypt because of their sins.

Reading Isaiah 19, I wondered… the world, even more so America and the other Western world, have been extremely in your face with the sins of abortion, sexual abuse of children, LBGTQ, the occult, mysticism, and ecumenism in the church (The Catholic’s Pope has embraced Islam and Allah as their god.).  Today, conditions around the  world sound similar to what Isaiah described, also Jesus used the same language describing the end-of-this-age… wars, relationships strained resulting in fighting and in-fighting and betrayal, insane confusion (leaders acting irrationally), commerce destroyed, and employers and employees dejected.

Isaiah predicted the closing-off of the Nile River destroying the economy of Egypt.  Bill explains, in modern history, they have, and are, with dams.  The Nile was also shut down, in God’s judgment, preceding Israel’s Exodus from Egypt.  In real-time, we’re closing-off businesses and straining relationships through isolation… “social distancing”.  Is there significance between the two examples?

Does not sin lead to destruction?  God shows how He acted in regards to the sins of Egypt, and how He does, and will, through the end-of-this-age—what He does leading up to the redemption of His people, those that cry out for the Lord’s Salvation, and the destruction of His enemies who refuse to.

I’m just observing repeatable patterns recorded by Moses, the Prophets, and the Apostles of the Bible.

No, I’m not saying the Day of the Wrath of the Lord will happen today or tomorrow.  Certain things have to happen first… like the wicked one, the Antichrist, the son of perdition has to be revealed (see, 2 Thessalonians 2:3,8 below).

Was not Judas, also known as the son of perdition, a type of antichrist, revealed before the wrath and judgment of God for our sins came upon Jesus at the Cross?  Jesus became the one-time Atoning Sacrifice for forgiveness of the sins for those that accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and remain faithful to Him.  Today, this offer of Christ’s Redemption is open to anyone who is willing to.

In 2 Thessalonians 2:3, falling away is mentioned.  Does shaking by the hand of God, whether it be by trial or worse, strong delusion, sent by God, cause the testing of faith in God?  Those that ultimately deny their faith in the God of Israel as the only True God… the Father God is all-powerful… Jesus Christ is the only True Redeemer… the Holy Spirit provides the only Power over sin… do they not fall away?  Maybe like with hurricane-force winds, the weak trees fall, while the well rooted and anchored are left standing (Proverbs 1:26-28; Proverbs 10:24-25; Nahum 1:2-3; Jeremiah 30:22-24; Isaiah 66:12-16).

Those that fall away will buy into the Antichrist’s deal… his deceptive and deadly signs and wonders.

This being said, the evidence pointing to the season of the end-of-this-age, continues to mount.

Isaiah 19 1The burden of Egypt. Behold, the Lord rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom. And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards. And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts. And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither. The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more. The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish. Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.10 And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish [10 And the pillars of Egypt shall be broken in pieces; all they that work for hire shall be grieved in soul. (ASV)].                              14 The Lord hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.16 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which he shaketh over it [Hebrews 12 26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:29 For our God is a consuming fire.

Luke 22 29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; 30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren {Luke 21:27-36; Mark 14:38}.].

Matthew 24 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Matthew 10 34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

2 Thessalonians 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Romans 1 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;                              28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Revelation 18And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen [Isaiah 21 9And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground {…the idols of Egypt shall tremble at his presence… Isaiah 19:1}.], and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.                              14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,16 And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate [Isaiah 24 10 The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.11 There is a crying for wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone.12 In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.13 When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.                           16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited {Revelation 19:19-21; 20:1-3}.23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.].

Another pattern I’ve observed, in the Bible and life, is the “slow instant”.  The world today, compared to just a few months ago, has been another example of thisrepeatable pattern.  And, if we’re in the latter patterns of this current-age described in God’s Word… it’s going to get worse before it gets a lot worse… with only the faithful to the God of Israel left standing.

Until then… there’s hope to be left standing, like the well anchored tree so you’ll see the good and bear fruit (Jeremiah 17:5-8)!
