The Gift from God

The video… Is modern science a gift from God?

Whatever you think about the linked video… let’s do some math…

Did not eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil cause Adam and Eve to become conscience of the self?  They became aware of their nakedness and we’re ashamed of how God created and placed them in the Garden of Eden… their focus, their trust, went from God to self.

Genesis 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Deuteronomy 28:45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:46 And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.47 Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

Does the strength of man, trusting in the flesh, weaken the power of God, the Holy Spirit, in our life?  Will this cause our heart to depart from the Lord?

Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

When our weakness is exposed… that we recognize and accept it… do we not experience God’s strength… the power of His Spirit?  Whether we recognize it or not, we’re fallible.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

The strength of the flesh will not withstand the judgment of God for sin—His grace, the Holy Spirit, will not operate in this prideful corrupted environment that’s really becoming flabby and weak with each passing day headed for a total collapse at the grave.

1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Is not the deceptive strength of the flesh the enemy of the Holy Spirit and vise versa?  When we are young, we think nothing can hurt us… that we’re invincible.  We tend to want the brightest spotlight shined on us flexing our muscles… we love the attention.  Ageing humbles us revealing the foolishness of youth… the hollowness of flesh… that muscles dwindle away.

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would [James 4:4-10].

My body is getting weaker… becoming more frail.  Does this “weakness” mean I’m stepping closer to realizing the strength of the Lord (to be raised by the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the grave)?

Romans 8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

With the current madness, the strong-armed “solutions”, in the name of the flesh (i.e. trusting man and science), claim to support life—they’re actually supporting death… squelching and denying the Gift from God of Life.  The strength of God through His Holy Spirit is weakened in our life… the heart departs from the Lord.  Do not our works, what our hands and feet do, reveal our faith… whether it’s alive or dead?

John 6:63It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
