Jealous

…is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14).

One way I can relate to this… involves how a married man feels… for, I’m one.

This is just how I see it… it doesn’t mean I’m right… checkout the scriptures in context for yourself.

The story was told to me as I was growing up—a traveling merchant came home one day to find a trader in bed with his wife… so he shot the trader… and, I can’t remember… he may have shot his wife, too.  He served time—he killed the trader.  Was the traveling merchant reacting because… “he was a jealous husband and his jealousy had been provoked”?  (I kept the specific occupations general to protect identity.)

The woman is… the glory of the man (1 Corinthians 11:7)*—the Holy Spirit is the glory of God… the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you (1 Peter 4:14).

Could we then say… the Bride of Jesus Christ—His woman—His Church… is His glory—the Glory of God… which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27)… And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one (John 17:22-23)?

The Church seems to be overshadowed by God’s GloryWisdom is the principal thing… when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee (Proverbs 4:7,8,9)… Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown (Revelation 3:11).

As a Christian… we have the Holy Spirit residing in the “Heart of Flesh of the New Covenant”—the Holy of Holies in the Temple of God—the body of the believer in Jesus Christ (a member of the Church).

Then, some members of this Church begin to… offer… lend out… pimp out… the Glory of God—the Holy Spirit—to appease false gods… i.e. joining hands with the world’s religions in “prayer and petition” for “world peace”.  Would that provoke… I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images (Isaiah 42:8)… For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14)?

The traveling merchant—was his jealousy speaking… my glory will I not give to another… when he pulled the trigger?  I don’t know… but I do know what jealousy feels like.   Was he justified?  No… he committed murder—God reserves for Himself to carry out justice… Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. (Romans 12:19 NASB).

And… the day is coming when God will “pull the trigger” on His wrath… The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens (Jeremiah 10:11)… For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely… therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the Lord (Jeremiah 6:13,15)… But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death (Revelation 21:8).

I do believe it doesn’t end well for a professing Christian who mixes it up with false religions—idolatry—and, refuses to… come out from among them, and be ye separate.

Remember… today, we’re an “engaged bride”—we’ve yet to arrive as a “wife with full honor and benefits”… for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints (Revelation 19:7-8).

So… until… the marriage of the Lamb is come… it’s in our best interest to remain faithful to the one and true God—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of Israel… Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen (1 John 5:21)… For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them (Ephesians 5:5-7:5-7)… And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).
